What makes beeswax candles different from standard candles?
Most commercial candles are made from paraffin wax (a byproduct of petroleum) or heavily processed synthetic blends that can release toxins into your home. Pure beeswax is completely natural, non-toxic, and clean-burning. It burns significantly longer and cleaner than other waxes, releasing a warm, golden light and subtle honey scent.
Do you add any fragrances to your candles?
No, we never use synthetic fragrances. One of the greatest joys of pure beeswax is its incredible, naturally sweet honey aroma. The subtle scent is entirely created by our bees and the flowers they forage, providing a gentle, comforting fragrance that fills your space without overwhelming it.
Are there any artificial colours or dyes in your candles?
We keep our wax in its truest, purest form. We do not use any dyes or colour infusions. The beautiful, natural golden hues of our candles come entirely from the natural variations of the beeswax harvested from our hives.
Beeswax naturally ranges in colour from white to dark brown. The exact colour depends on the age of the comb, what it was used for in the hive, and the specific flowers the bees visited for nectar and pollen.
What is the white powdery film on my candle?
If you notice a soft, whitish film forming on the surface of your candle over time, don't worry, this is a wonderful sign! It is called "candle bloom" and is natural crystallisation that only occurs on 100% pure beeswax. It is a built-in guarantee of your candle's purity. If you prefer a sleek look, you can easily wipe it away with a soft cloth or, warm it slightly with your hands or hairdryer.

Where does your beeswax come from?
We are a family of beekeepers, and our story truly begins at the hive. My family does the heavy lifting out at the apiaries to keep our bees healthy and thriving, allowing us to source the highest quality, raw beeswax directly from our own hives.
What does "tiny batch" mean?
Since we handle every single step of the process ourselves (from hive to hand) we intentionally keep our production small. "Tiny batch" means I hand-pour just a few candles at a time. This gives me more control of colour shades and allows me to give every single candle the absolute care, patience, and precision it deserves before it leaves our home for yours.

Are Blossom and Bees candles safe to burn around young children?
Absolutely! In fact, this is the very reason Blossom and Bees was born. As a mother of two young kids, clean indoor air quality is incredibly important to me. Because our candles are 100% pure beeswax with zero synthetic additives, soot, or toxic chemicals, they are a completely safe, clean, and comforting choice for family-focused homes. Just make sure you keep it out of reach of kids when burned.
How do I get the best burn from my beeswax candle?
To enjoy your candle for as long as possible, we recommend a few simple steps:
- The first burn: Allow your candle to burn until the pool of melted wax reaches the outer edges of the candle. This establishes a "memory ring" and prevents tunneling.
- Trim the wick: Keep your cotton wick trimmed to about 6mm before each light to ensure a steady, clean flame.
- Gently extinguish: Instead of blowing your candle out (which can cause a little smoke), use a metal tool or stick to gently dip the lit wick into the melted wax pool and straighten it back up. This keeps the wick primed for your next burn with zero smoke.
